Distressed “BOO” Letter Blocks
Spell out your excitement for the season with a set of classic, distressed “BOO” letter blocks. Cut three identical square blocks from a 2×4 board. Paint each block in a different coordinating Halloween color, such as one vibrant orange, one deep plum purple, and one lime green. Once the base coat is dry, use a stencil to paint a large, bold letter on each block—”B” on the first, “O” on the second, and “O” on the third—using stark black or white paint.
Take a sheet of medium-grit sandpaper and vigorously sand the corners, edges, and flat faces of the blocks to give them a heavily distressed, well-loved farmhouse look. To tie the set together, wrap a thick piece of jute twine around all three blocks, tying them into a single, cohesive bundle topped with a rustic bow. This set is incredibly versatile and looks fantastic displayed on a fireplace mantel, windowsill, or entryway bench.
