Spooky Glowing Jack-o-Lantern Luminary
Combine the warmth of candlelight with the rustic charm of wood with this ingenious luminary project. Cut a thick 2×4 block and use a spade bit or hole saw to drill a wide, shallow well into the top surface, just deep enough to hold a standard battery-operated LED tea light candle. Paint the entire block in a rich, warm pumpkin orange.
On the front face of the block, paint a classic jack-o-lantern face using a special glow-in-the-dark yellow or neon green paint. During the day, the block looks like a lovely, rustic wooden pumpkin. At night, turn on the LED tea light and watch as the top glows warmly while the painted face on the front illuminates in the dark, creating a dual-purpose decoration that looks spectacular both day and night.
