8. Paper Bag Witch Puppets
Paper bag puppets are a classic childhood staple that encourages imaginative play long after the crafting is finished. To make a wicked but whimsical witch, start with a standard brown paper lunch bag. Keep the bag folded, using the square bottom flap as the face of the witch. Paint the entire bag green, or glue green construction paper over the face and body sections. Cut out a large pointed hat from black paper, decorating it with a purple band and a shiny yellow buckle. Glue the hat to the top of the folded flap. For the hair, cut strips of orange or purple yarn and glue them to the sides of the head. Draw a crooked nose, a toothy grin, and bright eyes on the face. Kids can slip their hands inside the bag to bring their new witch friend to life, putting on spooky puppet shows for the whole family.
