18. Paper Plate Witch Hats
Let your kids dress up for Halloween in custom-made hats they designed themselves. To make a wearable paper plate witch hat, take a standard paper plate and fold it gently in half. Cut a series of straight lines from the center fold outward to the inner rim, creating several triangle flaps. Unfold the plate, and push these triangle flaps upward so they stand straight up. This creates the base brim of the hat. Next, roll a large sheet of black construction paper into a cone shape that fits perfectly over the standing triangle flaps, and secure it with tape or staples. Glue the cone to the flaps of the paper plate. Let your kids decorate their new hats with glitter, paint, ribbon, and paper buckles to create a unique accessory for their Halloween costumes.
