Tomato Cage Ghost Topiaries
Elevate your porch decor with elegant, structured ghost topiaries made from metal tomato cages and white fabric. This simple craft requires no advanced artistic skills but yields a high-end, boutique-style look. Placed in decorative urns or planters on either side of your front door, these towering, illuminated figures provide a stately yet spooky greeting for your evening visitors throughout the month of October.
To build these topiaries, take a standard wire tomato cage and flip it upside down so the pointed stakes are at the top. Gather the stakes together and secure them with heavy-duty tape or wire to form a rounded head shape; you can also place a small foam ball or a plastic fishbowl on top to create a more defined head. Wrap a string of outdoor-rated warm white LED Christmas lights around the cage from top to bottom. Drape a white, weather-resistant fabric sheet, tablecloth, or a couple of layers of cheesecloth over the frame. Cut out simple oval eyes from black felt and attach them to the fabric with fabric glue or safety pins, then plug in the lights for a stunning, glowing topiary display.
