Monstrous Garage Door Face
Turn your entire garage door into a giant, gaping monster mouth ready to swallow up unsuspecting trick-or-treaters. This creative, large-scale DIY project is incredibly fun and makes a massive statement in your neighborhood. By using lightweight, weather-resistant materials like corrugated plastic sheets or outdoor vinyl, you can design a custom monster face that moves dynamically whenever the garage door opens and closes, creating an interactive holiday experience.
To design your monster, purchase large sheets of black, white, and red corrugated plastic (coroplast). Sketch out giant, jagged teeth, menacing eyes with slitted pupils, and perhaps a long, curling tongue. Cut the shapes out using a utility knife. To mount the pieces to your garage door, use outdoor-rated mounting tape or heavy-duty magnetic strips if you have a metal door. Be sure to place the pieces within the individual panels of the door so that it can still roll up and down smoothly. When the door opens, it will look as if the monster is opening its mouth wide, delighting neighbors of all ages.
