Giant Trash Bag Spiderwebs on the Fence
Transform your backyard fence or the side of your garage into a giant, creepy-crawly spectacle using nothing more than ordinary black trash bags and scissors. This clever upcycling craft allows you to create massive, intricate spiderwebs that are highly visible from the street. It is an exceptionally cost-effective way to cover large outdoor surfaces with dramatic Halloween flair, and the durable plastic material ensures your webs will survive wind, rain, and autumn dew.
To craft these giant webs, take a heavy-duty black trash bag and cut off the sealed bottom and side seams so you are left with two large squares of plastic. Fold a square diagonally to form a triangle, and continue folding it in half several times, much like making a paper snowflake. Using chalk, sketch a curved web pattern along the folded edges, then carefully cut along the lines. When you unfold the plastic, you will reveal a massive, perfect spiderweb. Secure these to your fence, porch railings, or exterior walls using outdoor tape or zip ties, and add a few oversized plastic spiders to complete the arachnophobia-inducing scene.
