Illuminated Ghostly Packing Tape Figures
For an artistic and truly breathtaking outdoor installation, craft life-sized, glowing ghostly figures using nothing but clear packing tape and plastic wrap. These translucent, glass-like sculptures capture the exact human form and look incredibly eerie when placed in a dark yard or garden. When illuminated from within or highlighted with an external spotlight, they glow with a haunting, celestial light that will leave your neighbors in awe of your creativity.
To create a tape ghost, you will need a helper and a dress form, mannequin, or even a willing friend to serve as the mold. Wrap the form tightly in plastic cling wrap to protect it, then wrap layers of clear packing tape over the wrap, sticky side down first, followed by several layers sticky side up to build structural strength. Once you have built up a sturdy shell, carefully cut the tape mold down the back with safety scissors to release the form, then tape the seam back together. Place a battery-operated LED light string inside the hollow sculpture and anchor it to your lawn with metal garden stakes, creating a stunning, glowing apparition rising from the grass.
