19. Abstract Ocean Waves
Capture the soothing rhythm of the sea with simple, stylized waves. This project uses clean lines and a limited cool color palette of teal, turquoise, cobalt blue, and deep navy. Instead of trying to paint a realistic ocean, you paint repeating, overlapping curved lines that mimic the crests of waves. By varying the shades of blue for each wave layer, you create a beautiful, graphic pattern. Leaving a sliver of white paper at the top of each wave perfectly represents the frothy white sea foam.
