Popsicle Stick Halloween Characters
Popsicle sticks, or craft sticks, are a staple of childhood crafting, and they can easily be transformed into a whole cast of Halloween characters. By gluing five to six craft sticks together side-by-side using a cross-brace on the back, you create a sturdy wooden plaque that is ready for decoration. This flat surface is ideal for painting or coloring with acrylic paint, markers, or even crayons, making it highly adaptable for children of all ages and skill levels.
With a little imagination, these wooden plaques can become anything. Paint one bright green with a black top hat for a classic Frankenstein; paint another solid white with black marker lines for a wrapped mummy; or paint one bright orange with a green stem for a rustic pumpkin. You can even add embellishments like purple felt hair for a witch or a scrap of black fabric for a vampire’s cape. These flat characters can be glued to longer sticks to make puppets for a spooky shadow puppet theater, or they can have magnets attached to the back to decorate the kitchen refrigerator with handmade holiday cheer.
