Egg Carton Bat Garlands
Give your discarded egg cartons a spooky second life with these whimsical Egg Carton Bats. This eco-friendly craft is perfect for toddlers who love to paint and play with textures. Cutting the cardboard egg cups into segments of three creates a natural bat shape, complete with a central body and two flanking wings. Toddlers can practice their painting skills with bold black or deep purple paint, and the addition of wiggly eyes gives each bat a unique, goofy personality. Prepare the craft by cutting a cardboard egg carton into sections of three cups. Trim the bottom edges of the outer two cups into curved, scalloped shapes to resemble bat wings, leaving the center cup intact as the head. Hand your toddler a paintbrush and a small dish of black washable paint. Let them coat the entire egg carton segment. Once the paint is dry, help your toddler squeeze two small dots of school glue onto the center cup and press wiggle eyes into place. For an extra touch of spooky charm, glue small white paper triangles to the bottom of the cup as fangs. Thread a piece of orange yarn through the top of the bats to hang them up.
