Cotton Ball Ghost Collages
Soft, fluffy, and incredibly easy to make, Cotton Ball Ghosts are a classic toddler craft for a reason. Pinching, pulling, and gluing cotton balls is a fantastic way to develop fine motor skills and tactile awareness. Toddlers will enjoy the contrast between the soft, airy cotton and the sticky glue. The resulting ghosts are wonderfully textural, three-dimensional, and friendly rather than frightening, making them perfect for young children.
Cut a simple ghost outline out of sturdy black construction paper. Squeeze a generous amount of school glue all over the inside of the ghost shape, or let your toddler paint the glue on with a foam brush. Hand your toddler a bowl of white cotton balls. Show them how to gently pull and stretch the cotton balls to make them extra fluffy before pressing them down onto the glue. Once the entire ghost is covered in soft white cotton, help them glue two black paper circles onto the cotton for the eyes, creating a sweet, touchable spectral friend.
