Mummified Mason Jar Lanterns
Cast a warm, textured glow across your room with these incredibly simple and kid-friendly mummified mason jar lanterns. Take clean glass mason jars and wrap them tightly in white gauze bandages or cheesecloth, securing the ends with hot glue. Make sure to overlap the layers slightly, leaving a few gaps for the light to shine through. Glue a pair of large, goofy googly eyes or sinister, hand-drawn paper eyes peeking out from between the bandages. Place a battery-operated tea light or a string of warm white fairy lights inside each jar. When illuminated, the texture of the gauze mimics mummy wrappings perfectly, casting a soft, diffuse, and cozy light that looks fantastic lined up along a windowsill, staircase, or outdoor porch.
