The Scarf-Interwoven Bun
An excellent way to add volume, color, and flair to a chin-length updo is by incorporating a silk hair scarf. This accessory not only hides shorter, unruly layers but also adds a chic, Parisian-inspired element to your look. Start by folding a square silk scarf into a narrow band. Gather your hair into a low ponytail and secure it with an elastic. Tie the scarf around the elastic, ensuring the two ends are of equal length.
Split your ponytail into two sections, and wrap one end of the scarf around one section, and the other end around the second section. Twist the two scarf-wrapped sections together to form a textured rope, then coil this rope around the base of your ponytail to form a bun. Secure the bun with bobby pins, letting the remaining ends of the scarf hang down elegantly or tying them into a chic bow. This style is perfect for adding a pop of color to a neutral outfit or protecting your hair on a breezy day.
