13. Cardboard Witch’s Cauldron
No witch’s lair is complete without a bubbling cauldron, and you can easily build one using cardboard strips and papier-mâché. Cut several long, curved cardboard ribs and hot glue them to a circular cardboard base, forming a large, bulbous sphere. Wrap horizontal bands of cardboard around the ribs to lock the shape in place, then cover the entire structure with papier-mâché to smooth out the edges and create a cast-iron texture. Paint the cauldron a textured matte black, and fill the top opening with green and yellow balloons or iridescent Christmas ornaments to look like a bubbling, magical potion spilling over the sides.
