10. Pinecone and Pipe Cleaner Forest Spiders
Bring the beauty of autumn nature indoors with this organic crafting project. Collect large, intact pinecones from a local park or your backyard. Paint them with a coat of matte black spray paint, or leave them natural with just a dusting of silver glitter on the tips of the scales. Cut extra-fuzzy, thick black pipe cleaners into equal lengths and thread them through the center of the pinecone scales, bending them downward to form the jointed legs. Add a pair of realistic adhesive taxidermy eyes to the flat base of the pinecone to give your forest spider a surprisingly lifelike and curious expression.
