Paper Chain Halloween Countdown

15

Build anticipation for the big night with a classic, interactive paper chain countdown. Kids can cut strips of orange, black, and purple construction paper, loop them together, and secure them with glue or staples to form a long, colorful chain. Each link represents one day leading up to Halloween, allowing kids to visually track the passing of October.

To make this craft even more engaging, write a fun, festive activity or a spooky joke on the inside of each paper strip before looping them together. Activities could include “watch a spooky movie,” “drink hot apple cider,” or “tell a ghost story.” Each morning, kids can tear off one link of the chain, read the daily activity, and watch the chain grow shorter as the excitement for trick-or-treating builds.
