Floating Dementor Figures from Tomato Cages
Turn standard metal garden tomato cages upside down to create towering, ominous, floating dark spirits that loom over your lawn. Secure the pointed ends of the tomato cage together at the top using zip ties to form a head, and wrap a foam ball or a inflated balloon around the tip. Drape layers of inexpensive black cheesecloth, creepy cloth, or tattered landscape fabric over the frame. Shred the bottom edges of the fabric so they flutter menacingly in the wind. To make them look as though they are floating across your yard, insert a sturdy wooden stake or rebar into the ground and slide the tomato cage over it. The result is a tall, hauntingly realistic shadow figure that adds incredible depth and drama to your outdoor Halloween landscape.
