2. The Wildflower Garden Cottage
Some cottages are about the house. This one is about everything around it. I surrounded a small poplar cottage with wildflowers — poppies, daisies, cornflowers, all of it — until the garden was doing half the talking.
The trick is keeping the house simple so the flowers pop. Pale walls, one little window box, a dirt path that curves instead of going straight. It looks like someone actually lives there, and someone who really loves their garden.
