17. The Waterfall Braid Wrapped Chignon

17

Waterfall braids are exceptionally beautiful because they allow strands of hair to drop through the braid weave, creating cascading diagonal lines across the head. In this updo adaptation, a waterfall braid originates near the temple and travels diagonally down toward the nape of the neck, catching light and building layered interest along its path.

The cascading strands dropped from the waterfall braid are then gathered together with the remaining hair and rolled into a soft, horizontal chignon. The cascading lines lead the eye directly into the chignon, creating a sense of continuous flow and organic thickness. It is an exquisitely detailed option for romantic, whimsical wedding themes.
