18. Pine Needle Hillside Burrow

Inspired by hobbit-style architecture, the Pine Needle Hillside Burrow is a round, earth-sheltered campsite dug directly into the side of a grassy pine forest hill. It blends completely into the natural topography, offering high energy efficiency and complete protection from the elements.
The front facade features a signature circular doorway made of spruce stairs and trapdoors, framed by smooth sandstone or stone brick blocks. Above the entrance, the grassy hill continues seamlessly, decorated with tall spruce trees, ferns, and sweet berry bushes. Inside, the burrow boasts a domed ceiling made of oak planks, a warm brick fireplace, and built-in wall niches for beds and storage chests. The interior feels incredibly snug, safe, and warm, offering a unique subterranean retreat that doesn’t feel like a cold cave.
