Bring a miniature, mossy world of gothic fantasy into your home with aesthetic terrarium graveyards. This project reimagines the classic glass terrarium as a tiny, decaying Victorian cemetery. It is a highly detailed, fascinating craft that sits beautifully on coffee tables, desks, or windowsills, inviting viewers to look closely at the intricate, miniature landscape.
Start with a clean glass cloche, geometric terrarium, or vintage apothecary jar. Layer the bottom with charcoal, small pebbles, and preserved green forest moss to create a realistic ground cover. Craft miniature tombstones out of polymer clay, painting them gray and adding tiny cracks and faux-moss details with acrylic paint. Position the tombstones nestled in the moss, and add tiny dried twigs to look like gnarled, leafless trees, creating a hauntingly beautiful micro-scene.
