11. Watercolor Coffee Filter Webs
Watercolor coffee filter webs are a delightful, lightweight, and incredibly colorful craft that is perfect for young children and classroom activities. Because coffee filters are highly absorbent, they blend watercolor paints or washable markers into beautiful, tie-dye patterns. When folded and cut like paper snowflakes, they transform into vibrant, delicate spider webs that look stunning when taped to windows, allowing the autumn sunlight to illuminate their brilliant colors.
To make these colorful creations, flatten a round white paper coffee filter and paint it with watercolors, or let children scribble on it with washable markers and spray it lightly with water to watch the colors bleed together. Once the filter is completely dry, fold it in half, then into thirds, and half again to form a tight wedge. Cut out curved sections along the sides of the wedge, leaving the central spine intact.
