Turn an ordinary household mirror into a portal to the spirit world with a custom haunted silhouette. This project uses black static cling vinyl or removable matte contact paper to create the illusion of a vintage spirit trapped behind the glass. By tracing and cutting out a Victorian-style ghostly figure—complete with flowing robes and a distressed facial expression—you can easily apply the design directly to your mirror without leaving any permanent residue.
To enhance the illusion, lightly dust the edges of the mirror with a mixture of cornstarch and water using a spray bottle, creating a foggy, neglected look. When guests look at their reflection, they will be startled and delighted to see a silent, spectral figure standing right beside them.
