12. A Sunset Picnic Meadow
Last one, and it might be my favorite. At the edge of the village, where the trees thin out, I cleared a little meadow and put down picnic blankets, baskets, and a few torches for when it gets dark.
There is nothing to build here, really, and that is the point. It is a place to sit, to watch the sun go down through the leaves, and to remember why you built a village in the first place.
That is my dappled forest village, all twelve ideas, and I am still adding to it, if I am being honest. Start with the cottage, pick the idea that makes you smile, and let the forest do the rest. The light in here really does most of the work for you.
